Dr. Priyadarshini is a Singaporean-Indian Playback Singer & Performer in Indian Film Industry who has sung several blockbuster & hit movie songs in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, Hindi & other languages for renowned Music Composers. She has also lent her voice for Private Albums, Jingles, Television Serial, Event title songs, Corporate Brand Anthems, Non-Filmy, Devotionals and Web series titles in more than 12 Indian and foreign languages. She is a versatile Singer who is trained in Indian Classical Carnatic, Hindustani and Western Music with a unique and magical voice timbre. 

Dr. Priyadarshini is the first playback singer to carry out Ph.D research in 100 years of Indian film music and receive a doctorate. Her 1080-page doctoral thesis is regarded as the authoritative source on the subject. As a researcher, writer and author, she has published several research articles and papers in reputed journals. She is a live performer who has performed several musical shows across the globe.

Dr. Priyadarshini has made special on-screen appearances in movies, short films and independent albums showcasing her acting skills. She is also a music educator and music entrepreneur. She is the co-founder & managing director of Priyadarshini Music Foundation (PRISM) and PRISM Recording Studios. She is the Managing Director of PM Audios & Entertainments and Mugus Records, a record Label. She has contributed to the music industry with her raga discoveries and songwriting. She is a recipient of numerous awards, honours, accolades, appreciations from various organisations, NGOs, Government Departments, & others.

Priyadarshini entered the Indian Film Industry as a Playback Singer in 2003 with the Tamil movie Kadhal Dot Com under the Music Direction of Ramani Bharadwaj with her debut song ‘Kadhal Kadhal’, a melodious duet with singer Hariharan. She flew from Singapore to India to record this song. 

She then worked with D.Imman for several movies, jingles and background scores. Priyadarshini stepped into Bollywood with the movie ‘Garam Masala’ starring Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Neha Dhupia, Daisy Bopanna for Music Director D. Imman for the song ‘Ye Dosti’ and background vocals.

Priyadarshini sang for several other movies in Kannada, to name a few Bidda, Seena, Nannedeya Haadu, Thipparalliya Tarlegalu, Heththare Hennanne Herabeku, Chikkamagalura Chikka Mallige, Jayahe and others. ‘Cheluvina Chittara‘ was a blockbuster movie for which she sang two songs ‘Kendowle Kane‘, ‘By two coffee‘ as lead singer under the Music Direction of Mano Murthy.
