Hindustani classical vocalist, Devotional singer

Biography

Saket Moghe, born in a musically influenced family, performed on a Marathi radio FM channel as a child artist. Since then he started keenly studying music which involved all folk music, Kirtanas, Abhangas and Gazals. At the age of 15 he realized that his soulful interest is in Hindustani Classical Music and then devoted himself to this stream of music.

When in Satara, he started learning under a very able classical vocalist Pt. Jayant Kejkar. Pt. Kejkar hails from Gwalior school of music and is known as a very tuneful vocalist in the music circle.

Saket moved to Pune for his further education and there he was immensely fortunate to be under very well known Gwalior singer, Pt. N. V. Diwan’s wings. Pt. Diwan taught him and bestowed upon him lot of love. Saket continued to learn under him for about a decade before he moved to Bangalore.

Presently, Saket is seeking training under the able guidance of a renowned artist of Gwalior and Kirana Gharana, Pt.Vinayak Torvi for over 12 years. Pt. Torvi is one of the finest musicians the country has produced and is known for his mastery over Gayaki of various Gharanas. Pt. Torvi is a proud disciple of Gayanacharya Dr. Gururao Deshpande and Late Bharatratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi.

Saket is well qualified in the Technology, Behavior, Strategy and Management with various professional certifications.

• “AAROHI” – Raag Multani and Maubihag

• Has sung four tracks Raga Yaman, Bageshri and Desh tracks in the album ‘Kahata Gurudas’ based on Pt. Vinayak Torvi’s compositions.

• Conceptualized and created Documentary Film ‘Swar-Narayan’ on Pt. N. V. Diwan’s musical Journey.

• Regular performer on Sangeet Samvaad Radio.
