Simrat is a Professional Singer trained in Hindustani Classical Music. Born in Punjab and brought up in Delhi, Simrat started learning music at a very young age from Smt Kunda Panse and started performing on stage and for All India Radio Delhi. After graduating as a topper from Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, Delhi University, she joined Akhil Bhartiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, New Delhi for Sangeet Visharad in Hindustani Classical Music. She topped the university and also did extensive music trainings under various Gurus in the tradition of Guru-Shishya parampara. Simrat has been bestowed ‘SAKHA AWARD 2013’ by Padamshree Smt. Shanti Hiranand ji, renowned disciple of Begum Akhtar & Amarjeet Singh Kohli ji for outstanding singing performance during Homage to Shamshad begum by SAKHA & PECOBA.

Simrat’s accomplishments have been recognized by great veterans in the field of Indian music, to commemorate legendary figures such as Shamshad Begum, Reshma, Khursheed, Rajkumari, Geeta Dutt & OP Nayyar. Simrat has also lent her melodious voice to many Telefilms, background scores, and more than two hundred NCERT CIET programs at Chacha Nehru Bhawan for kids and title songs of serials using her devotion and love for playback singing.
