Kiran Hegde, born and brought up in a traditional family, at Magegar, Siddapur, Uttara Kannada (Karnataka), has got good cultural background and reasonable support to music. He learnt basic Hindustani flute by Vidwan Prabhakar Bhat Sirsi. Then he went to well known flautist Pt. Venkatesh Godkhindi of Bangalore for the higher study in order to know the techniques of flute. At present he is undergoing advanced training by world famous violinist Padmabhushan Smt. Dr. N. Rajam, in Gayaki Ang of Gwalior Gharana. He has given solo programs successfully many places in India. He participated and achieved many national level Instrumental music competition for senior - conducted by Sahara India Parivar Lucknow, Omkarnath Music Foundation Trust, Sharada Sangeet Vidyalaya Mumbai etc. And participated in 12th National Youth Festival representing Karnataka state and got prize held in Pune. Received PANDIT. V. D PALUSKAR Memorial award in 2004. And got "Surmani" title in Kal Ke Kalakar Program conducted By Sur Singar Samsad Mumbai. He is also a graded artist of AIR mumbai. He got good occasion in giving flute solo recital organized by I.T.C SANGEET RESEARCH ACADEMY, Abdul Karim Khan Memorial festival Miraj and Hubli, YUVA MAHOTSAVA conducted by Dadar Matunga Cultural Centre, NCPA Mumbai, Pandit Omkarnath Thakur trust Thane. He has acted and directed music for Kannada Musical Dramas. He has experiance of playing in various jugalbandi, Fusion and light music concerts. He is receiving positive response from audience whenever he gave programs and is getting encouragement by senior Musicians. He is establishing his own identity in the field of music.
