Manoj is a gifted torch bearer of the Senia Maihar gharana, also frequently mentioned name in the contemporary Indian classical music scenario. His aesthics sparkle have enbled him to spread wings and soar the heights of creative splendour. Since 1975 Manoj is performing jugalbandi with his brother Mor Mukut, a Sitar player. Whenever they have performed a Jugalbandi people were left amazed after listening to them. His father nationally acclaimed Tabla player Sambhu Dayal Kedia, took him to Sarod at the age of 7 under the guidance of Praja Nandi jee, Acharya Raja Ram Sukla and father Sambhu Dayal Kedia. There after he was nurtured by Mr. S.D.David. Padma Bhushan Ustad Ali Akbar Khan impressed with the enormous talent and wonderful acumen of Manoj to grasp the intricacies of Ragas, formally baptise him as his disciple. Also he started taking taleem from Guru Maa Annapurna jee daughter of great wizard of Indian classical music Ustad Allaudin Khan Saheb of Maiher. Presently he is under the guidance of Pt. Sunil Mukherjee, a Sarod maestro from Delhi.
