Born in a family that nurtured music, Manas inculcated musical instincts very early under the tutelage of his parents, Dr Himanshu Vishwaroop (Violin Scholar and Reader, Bhatkhande University) & Prof. Dr. Veena Vishwaroop (Vocal Dept., Indira Kala Sangeet University), owing to which Manas bloomed to his inherent potential at a tender age. Realizing his aptitude, he was accepted as a protégé by Pt. Babanrao Haldankar, renowned musicologist & vocalist of the Agra Gharana, under the enlightening guidance of whom, Manas is still continuing his quest for musical excellence.
Since 2000, Manas has performed at many prestigious music festivals and competitions and has been showered with accolades for his diverse knowledge and performances of many genres of Classical vocal music; some of which include the prestigious Pt. Bhimsen Joshi Scholarship by the University of Mumbai, Nationally acclaimed scholarships by UGC & HRD Ministry (Govt. of India), Akashwani performances, awards and accreditation, along with performances on elite stages
like the NCPA, Bhatkhande Samaroh, Int’l Rotary Assembly, Goa College of Music,DMCC, SCZCC-Jalgaon and University of Mumbai. Manas has been lauded with numerous awards for his performances which include the Gunidas Trophy, ITC-SRA award, Akashwani National Trophy, National Music Competition, Pune and has secured prizes at National, State-level, Zonal and Regional competitions including Yuva-Mahotsav, Gaanwardhan, Indradhanushya (Inter-University) and National Youth Festivals to name a few from the list.
Manas has performed for the AIR-Akashwani and is a B-grade accredited artist from Akashwani, Mumbai and also grooms students at the Sharda Sangeet Vidyalaya .
Manas’ recitals have been lauded by critics, connoisseurs & senior musicians alike as he strives to present a new vista of Hindustani Classical Vocal music, touching every aspect, every genre yet preserving the values of the tradition he belongs to.
