Biography

Rajesh Datar - a classical, semi classical and light music singer started his musical education under the able hand training from Guru Pandit Shri. Dattopant Agashe, Pandit Shri. Manoharpant Dabke, Pandit Shri. Ram Mate and Pandit Shri. Madhusudan Patwardhan and completed Sangeet Visharad with Distinction and first number.

He has successfully given more than 2500 public performances in Pune and all over India and abroad for classical, semi-classical and Sugam Sangeet.

Mr. Datar has performed on all T.V.Channels and F.T.I. Programmes - Pune. He has appeared in programmes like Surtaal /Geet Gopal/Geet Ramayan and Nakshatranche Dene - on Zee Marathi, Jeevan Gane on ETV Marathi, Maze Gane on DD 10 National Channel Sahyadri TV and Sam Channels.

To encourage the amateur artists or professionals and to conduct Classes and Courses for the development of Indian Cultural Activities i.e. Classical, semi-classical and Sugam Sangeet for the propagation of INDIAN CULTURE and various types of Indian folk music, he has formed ANAHAT ART ACADEMY, a Public Charitable Trust, which is involved in various Social activities in Pune.

Shri. Datar has got his own set-up i.e. RAJKALYAN STUDIO, a Multi-track Digital Audio Studio and he is engaged as a creative Music Director in creating and directing New Productions for Classical, Semi-Classical, Bhakati Sangeet, Bhajan, Filmy, Non-Filmy, and folk Songs. And he is also engaged in singing Audio Cassettes, Albums, Film Songs, National Integrity Songs etc.

He is a Founder Member and President of 'Sarvotkarsh' (Trust) which is specifically formed for promotion of Indian Classical, Semi-Classical, Folk, Filmy and Non-Filmy Music. From various languages to achieve National Unity and Integrity by the way of Music.

Career

He has participated in several competitions organized by well-known and renowned institution of Pune and in all over Maharashtra and India and stood first in vocal classical as well as in Sugam Sangeet Competition held by various institution i.c Sursanwardhan Sanstha Pune, Ichalkarangi, Mumbai, Delhi, Wai, Sangali and etc.

He has successfully performed more than 2500 public performances in Pune, all over Maharashtra, All over India and in Abroad for classical, Semi Classical and Suguam Sangeet.

LTD. - PUNE, SHRUTI - PUNE, GANDHARVA MAHA VIDYALAYA - PUNE, PARICHY - PUNE, MAHARASHTRA SAMAJ - BHOPAL, SANAND - INDORE, CREATIVE CONCEPTS - JAIPUR, SAPTAK - NAGPUR, LAHIRI FOUNDATIONS - CALCUTTA, JAIN ASSOCIATION - PUNE, PARIMAL - GOA, SINDHI ASSOCIATION - PUNE, ISCON - PUNE, and for so many Charitable Trust in Pune and Maharashtra.

He has performed in various programmes for newly composed songs under the able hand and renowned Music Directors i.e. Yashwant Dev, Anand Modak, Shrinivas Keskar, Mukund Patankar, Narendra Bhide, Ashish Mujumdar, Ashutosh Kulkarni, Vilas Adkar, Deepak Patekar, Vijay Pawar, Salil Kulkarni, Ashish Keskar, Rahul Ranade, and etc.

He has recorded various songs as a playback singer for more than Seven Marathi feature Films i.e. 'TARUNYACHYA LATEWAR' - ASHISH KESKAR, 'KALAM 302' - NARENDRA BHIDE, 'MALA JAGAYACHE AHE' - PRAMOD CHILLAL, VCD - SANT GORA KUMBHAR - PRASAD RANADE,

SHRI. DATAR, has also worked as a Judge for various Musical Competitions, i.e. SAPTA-SUR organized by ORION STUDIOS, SHAMRAO VITTHAL KALMADI HIGH SCHOOL, SINHAGAD TECHNICAL INSTITUTIONS, and other various renowned colleges and institutions in PUNE and OUTSIDE PUNE.

Programs

Swargeeta

The program includes various Ragas of Indian Classical Music with Lecture & Demonstration and also a presentation of Classical vocal music in "Bandish" format.

Swar Saj

This program includes Marathi Bhavgeet and devotional songs (bhaktigeete) from popular films as well as melodious Marathi songs of various lyricists.

Awards & Achievements

Rajesh Datar completed Sangeet Visharad with Distinction and first number.

He stood first in Sugam Sangeet as well as in Vocal classical competition organised by All India Radio on All India Level in 1992 and hence he is approved vocal classical and Sugam Sangeet singer for All India Radio having "A" Grade.

Shri. Datar has been honored and felicitated by several organizations i.e. SWAR-VEENA PUNE, MOHAMMAD RAFI ARTS FOUNDATIONS PUNE, YASHWANTRAO CHAVAN PRATISHTHAN MUMBAI, ABEE FOUNDATION and recently got SWAR-GEETA and LAYA-GEETA PURASKAR from Creative Concepts PIMPRI-CHINCHWAD PUNE.
