   Biography
Flute Durgaprasad born in a artists family father, mother were an actors of Rangabhoomi, he has 3 siblings, both sisters and brother a carnatic musicians and actors. Durgaprasad started learning Carnatic Music from his elder sister when he was 9 years old. He was initiated into Hindustani classical music by his mother. Durgaprasad got his initial training on Tabala at Veereshwara Punyashrama Gadag.

Later, Durgaprasad inspired to learn Flute and happened to attend a concert by the renowned maestro Padma-Vibhushan Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia in Koppal Gavisiddeshwara Jatra in 2010. The sound of the Bansuri flute and Hariji's playing style really appealed to him. trying to play the flute for the first time himself then Durgaprasad madly humbled to learn flute from Hariji itself and told his mother about this but, she not agreed to send him so far. then Durgaprasad decided to leave home and took train to Mumbai and landed alone without a penny of money in hand. arriving in Mumbai after a week he found Hariji at his Vrindaban Gurukul. Durgaprasad met Hariji at the Gurukul in April 2013 and requested him to teach flute, Hariji said "Okay I will teach you but no the accommodation I can give you here in the Gurukul, You can stay anywhere outside and attend classes". then Durgaprasad decided to stay in Railway Stations, Beaches and attend classes until he get a home to stay there, till then he was practising flute sitting alone in a garden near Mahalaxmi railway station. 

Durgaprasad is now Flautist Per Excellence, Singer, known for his emotionally expressive and soulful renditions. he is a multifaceted personality who wears many hats! Being struggled to learn bansuri from Hariprasad Chaurasia in Mumbai for many years, Prasad is now based in the Mysore/Bangalore Area where he has been performing both in solo Bansuri classical concerts and in light music concerts as accompanist, recording flautist for albums and movies. he also offers Bansuri flute lessons In the Mysore/Bangalore areas.

Durgaprasad was conferred with the title 'Naada Nidhi' in 2019. He received the award from the renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Padmashri Pt. M. Venkatesh Kumar at Gadag, Karnataka.
