Biography
Dilip Puranik has
been playing Tabla for over 25 years now. Born in a family of musicians
He has carved out a niche by himself and groomed into a performing
artist and teacher over the years. He has sought the tutelage of a
lineage of Gurus including Pandit. Prahlad Raj Mokashi (from Dharwad),
Pandit. Laxmeesh Rao (Sirsi) who is a gurubandhu of the Tabla-God
Ustadji. Zakir Hussain.
Dilip Puranik has since then accompanied leading vocalists and
instrumentalists - flute, sitar. He accompanies all kinds of music -
Classical music, light music, ghazals, fusion music, etc.,
The founder, architect and teacher of TablaGyan- School of Tabla based in Bangalore. TablaGyan - School of Tabla is a unique music school based in
Bangalore, which focusses on imparting the knowledge of Music in general
and Tabla in particular. The school is a decade old now and has been a
guiding light to many "musically hungry" students. The school has
trained more than 150 students now, and currently has a strength of 30+.
