   Biography
Rewa Natu was inspired and initiated into Hindustani classical singing by her father Pandit Vinayak Phatak,  himself a renowned tabla artist.  Rewa had an early privilege of hearing and meeting renowned maestros,  whom her father accompanied at recitals.  Rewa started learning music at the age of twelve,  from late Shri.  Dattopant Agashebua of Gwalior Gharana.  She was further groomed by late Pandit Sharad Gokhale and Dr.  Digvijay Vaidya.  Having earned a Masters degree in music from the SNDT University,  Pune and empanelled with the All India Radio,  Rewa has performed in various parts of the country and also abroad and is a regular performer on All India Radio.  During her studies at SNDT University she was fortunate to get the guidance of Vidushi Dr.  Veena Sahasrabuddhe.  She completed her doctoral research (Sangeetaacharya) under Dr.  Digvijay Vaidya and completed Sangeetaacharya from the Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya. 
 
Rewa has developed her own distinctive style by imbibing the quintessence of all her Gurus.  Rewa has been trained extensively on the various aspects of taals and their application in Bandishes.  Apart from khyaal singing,  Rewa also presents allied forms such as tarana,  thumris and also semi classical forms such as Natyageets and bhajans.  Rewa has also composed and presented thematic programs such as ‘Shakti’,  ‘Shyam Ghana Chayyo’.  In these programs Rewa presents classical as well as semi classical forms of music which relate to the theme.  These programs have received lot of applause from the masses.

   Career
Having received appreciation from her audiences Rewa has been consistently performing since 1994 at various places in India and abroad.   Following are some of the important places / concerts where Rewa has performed:

Apart from performances,  Rewa trains learners of Classical music in the Guru Shishya Padthati.   She makes particular efforts to imbibe Hindustani classical music in small children by the way of teaching them swaravali,  lakshangeets which she believes is necessary in the modern times of changing values and tastes.  She feels this is her small contribution and tribute to the great Pandit Vishnu Digambar Paluskarjee.  
Rewa is a recognised Guru affiliated to the School of Music of the Bharati Vidyapeeth University,  Pune. 

Recordings and Cassettes by Rewa Natu:
*Kanha : An ode to Lord Krishna,  Rewa Natu has rendered the myriad shades to Lord Krishna’s life through classical bandishes and semi-classical compositions like Jhula and Hori. 
 *Tarang Taranas : Rewa has presented classical tarana compositions in six ragas. 
*Shri Ganesh Sahastranaam : One thousand names of Lord Ganapati.  
All the three cassettes were released by Tarang Music Co. ,  Pune in the year 2001.

Naatyarang by Dr Rewa Natu

Naatyarang by Dr Rewa Natu , Musicals have an age-old tradition in India. Sangeet-rangabhumi or music-theatre has a great history in Marathi. Natyrang unfolds the stories and characters of these musicals through narration and the songs in the musicals will follow this histo-cultural narrative. Natyageets have an identity of their own, with murki-tana and excellent accompaniment of organ, harmonium and tabla. Rewa Natu who has a command on presentation of Natyageets takes the audience to the era of Sangeet Natak through this program.

Abhangrang by Rewa Natu

Abhangrang by Rewa Natu , The Bhakti tradition that took root in Maharashtra four hundred years ago continues unbroken till today not only through the teachings of saints and through pilgrimages and rituals but also through Abhangs or devotional songs sung in the praise of the Lord. Written by Sant Shreshti as of Maharashtra like Sant Dnyaneshwar, Sant Tukaram and Sant Namdev to name a few, they have also been sung and presented by the best of India’s Classical music pantheon. Abhangrang presents a few of these gems, made famous by Pr. Bhimsen Joshi. Pt. Vasantrao Deshpande, Pr. Jitendra Abhisheki, Smt. Kirshori Amonkar and other doyens of Indian classical music. Dr. Rewa Natu (eminent Classical vocalist) will present a repertoire of soulful Abhangs that will immerse the audience in Bhakti rasa and the magic of swar and taal . The experience will be further enriched by a compilation of beautiful visuals related to the theme

Kanha re by Dr Rewa Natu

Kanha re is a fascinating musical journey dedicated to Krishna, the God most venerated and loved by all Indians. Krishna is a theme oft repeated throughout traditional compositions in Indian classical and semi classical music. Poets and musicians alike have drawn upon the saga of Krishna to express their thoughts and emotions. Be it the naughty Balkrishna, the youthful Manmohan or Yogeshwar, the protector and conservator of the world, they all find their way into the Khayals of Indian classical vocalists. Kanha represents these different facets of Krishna through rich musical compositions sung by Dr. Rewa Natu.

Alankruta by Rewa Natu

Alankruta - Alankruta is a musical journey through the world of Vastra (garments) and Alankar (ornaments) experienced through Shabd(Words) and Swar (Musical notes) and Taal (rhythm). Dr. Rewa Natu (renowned classical vocalist) will present a curated collection of well known classical and semi classical songs. Her musical rendition will be supported and embellished by a spoken narrative woven around the theme. The songs as well as the verbal presentation will bring out the significance of Alankar (ornaments) and its reflection in Indian traditions, rituals, literature, art, craft and culture. The experience will be further enriched by a compilation of beautiful visuals related to the theme. Alankruta is more than an audio visual program, it is a glimpse into the rich world of Indian ornamentation, that will make you feel proud and nostalgic at the same time.

Srujanrang is a program of variety of songs like semi classical, devotional, Natyasangeet and Gazal. In addition to this, poems, anecdotes are also included to entertain the audience

   Awards & Achievements
*Appreciation by Former Prime Minister Hon.  Late  Shri.  P. V.  Narsimha Rao was more than an award. 
*Rewa stood first in the national level competition of the All India Radio and thus received the National Scholarship for Classical Music. 
*Received Tamhankar Scholarship from Gaanvardhan,  Pune (1994).
