Nishtha Agarwal
   Biography
Nishtha, born in 1988, has established herself as an 

accomplished Bhawai Dancer at the tender age of 10 in 

the country as well as abroad. She belongs to a learned 

musician family of Jaipur. Her father Sri. Rajiv Agarwal 

has been a reputed violinist of the country. 

Her music talent was early apparent, and as a result she 

gained a reputation of a child prodigy. Nishtha’s first 

public performance came at the age of 6. Her first taste 

of commercial success was the performance of Bhawai 

dance with the famous playback singer Sri. Ravindra Jain 

followed by a T-series sponsored performance with the 

famous playback singer Anuradha Paudwal.

   Career
Nishtha has performed in main Indian cities like Mumbai, 

Kannoj, Kanpur, Kolkata, Kathmandu, Ahemadabad, Delhi, 

Bihar, Gorakhpur, Haridwar, Bhopal Khajuraho, Benaras, 

Loharu, and all over Rajasthan Province.

The performance at Chakradhar Sangeet Samaroh, 

Raigarh(2005) and BHEL, Bhopal (2006) added yet another 

feather to her cap of success.

Chari - Rajasthani folk dance by Nishtha Agarwal with her group

Chari Dance is very famous dance in Rajasthan, India. Gathering water in a chari or a pot is a part of daily life of women of Rajasthan. Chari Dance Dancers dress traditional Rajasthani colourful dresses during Dance. The rajasthani folk music play with dhol, harmonioum, nagada, and dholak during Chari dance. Chari Dance is a very attractive dance of rajasthan. This is performed at the time of marriage occasions, on the birth of a male child or any big festival celebration in rajasthan India. The women go many miles to collect water for the families and the joy is reflected through this Chari Dance of Rajasthan. Chari Dance of Rajasthan is performed by groups of dancers in which women hold chari or pots on their head and a lighted lamp is then placed in the pot. During chari dance woman dance with balancing brass pots [chari] on their heads. Women move together and dance on on a same sequence.

Spinning round while holding sword in her mouth by maintaing balance of lighted pots over her head. The artist sit with dozens of manjeeras, or cybmals, tied on all over their bodies and strike them with the ones they hold in their hands.

Ghoomar is basically community dance of women perform on auspicious occasion. This is very simple dance, where the ladies move gently, gracefully in circles.

Rajasthani folk dance This is the most sensuous dance where dancer wear long, black skirts embroidered with silver ribbons, as they spin in a circle, their body dways acrobatically, so that it is impossible to believe that they are made of anything other than rubber. As the beat increases in tempo, the pace increases to such a pitch that it leaves the viewer as exhausted as the dancer.

Rajasthani folk dance Bhawai Dance form is mainly performed by veiled women dancers balancing as many as seven or nine brass pitchers on their heads as they dance nimbly, often pirouetting and swaying with their feet resting atop a glass or on the edge of a sword.
