Dance Qualifications

Having the privilege of being pupil of noted kathak guru of Jaipur gharana Pt. Girdhari Maharaj under whose hard work training learned the kathak dance.

• Alankar (M.A.) in Kathak Dance from Gandhrava University.

• Nipun (M.A.) in Kathak Dance from Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan.

Present Status

Working as Director of “INDIAN INSTITUTE OF KATHAK DANCE AND MUSIC, JAIPUR”

Major Achievements

Various performances in different countries and cities, few of them are:

• International Level

1. Visited Japan in the year 2000 for Kathak dance performance as a member of the International Institute of Perfect Arts (I.I.P.A.) on invitation by Takasaki Art Centre College, Japan.

2. Visited Nepal to play a role in an International film “Little Buddha” directed by Bernardo Bithluchit (Eight Oscar award Winner)

3. Visited Dubai to participate in “Dubai Festival” sponsored by RTDC for one month (15^th Jan 2003 – 15^th Feb 2003).

• National Level

1. Junior fellowship recipient from Ministry of Culture,Govt. of India

2. Scholarship winner for the 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 by Ministry of Human Resources, Delhi.

3. Doordarshan approved ‘B’ grade artist.

4. Kiran Trophy winner in the National Kathak dance competition held at Katni (M.P.).

• In “Chalo Man Ganga Yamuna Teer” organized by North Central Zone Cultural Centre in Feb 2002.

• In “Rastriaya Kathak Utsav” on 28^th September 2002 organized by Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur.

• In All India Meet of C.A.’s at Jaipur on 11^th March 2004.

• State Level

1. Recipient of Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy’s “Yuva Puraskar” 2002-2003 awarded by than Chief Minister of Rajasthan.

2. Scholarship winner for the year 2000-2001 and 2001-2002 declared by Rajasthan Sangeet Natak Academy.

3. Represented Rajasthan University in International Festival “Ghoomar 99”and won first prize.

4. First prize winner in Kathak competition held at Jaipur Kathak Kendra on 25^th March 1998.

5. Kathak dance performance at Ravindra Manch, Jaipur organized by All India Radio in 1998.

6. Successful dance performance at Birla Auditorium in “Vande Matram” program organized by Government of Rajasthan on 14^th Aug. 1998.

7. Participated in annual functions OF Jaipur Kathak Kendra and Rajasthan Sangeet Sansthan.

8. Performance in cultural evening organized during the International Conference on the Physics of Disordered Materials in1997.

9. Participated in various Indo German Society Programs.
