Pt. Subhash Nirwan,
world renowned "Chaumukha” Tabla Vadak is the leading Tabla Maestro of
Delhi Gharana which is the Origin of Tabla Playing.
Pt. Subhash Nirwan has played all over India in almost all major
music and dance festivals where he played solo as well as accompanied great
artistes of India including instrumentalists, dancers and vocalists.
The names of the
instrumentalists he accompanied are such as Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt. Ram Narayan
(Unique Sarangi Maestro), Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Pt. V.G. Jog, Pt. Hariprasad
Chaurasia, Shri T.N. Krishnan, Shri M.S. Gopal Krishnan, Dr. Smt. N. Rajan and
Smt. Sharan Rani.
Pt. Subhash Nirwan accompanied great kathak exponents like Pt.
Birju Maharaj, Smt. Sitara Devi (Kathak queen). Km. Uma Sharma, Shri Pratap
Pawar (U.K.) and Late Pt. Durga Lal. .
He accompanied classical vocalists like Pt. Jasraj, Smt.
Girija Devi, Shobha Gurtoo and others.He has accompanied South Indian Maestros
like Dr. Bala Murli Krishanan, Vidwan M.S. Gopal Krishnan, Vidwan T.N. Krishnan
and Vidwan T.V.S. Gopal - Krishanan.
Pt. Subhas Nirwan has also played Tabla with European Jazz -
Musicians, Flemenco musicians and dancers.
He has played Talwadyakacheri with Vidwan T.V.S. Gopal
Krishnan , Vidwan Umal Puram. K. Sivaraman.
He has toured many countries like U.S.S.R., Japan, France,
Spain, Portugal, Great Britain, West Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Netherland,
Norway, Belgium, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Korea,
Kuwait, Bahrain, Egypt & many countries in Africa like Ethiopia,
Madagascar, Kenya and Algiers.
He has also participated in the Sanskritic Festival of arts
of India in England, which was held on the 15th July, 1985.
He participated in India Festival, which was held in the
USSR in 1986.
He has developed his own style of Tabla playing, which
concentrates on clarity of tone and speed of execution.
He participated in many Radio Sangit Sammelans and National Programs for Akashwani All India
Radio) and Television. (Doordarshan)
At Present he is attached with FACULTY OF MUSIC & FINE
ARTS, UNIVERSITY OF DELHI, Delhi.
