   Career

Hindol’s performances are marked by a combination of technical finesse and a deep sense of maturity, which is unique at his age. His aesthetic understanding is rooted profoundly in spirituality. With the deep resonating tone of his instrument, each note makes its presence felt and nothing fades in ambiguity.

He has performed in many music festivals in India and abroad. He has also composed and played his music for various plays, ballets, and music bands. As a composer he has also been exploring the infinite combinations in the crossover of Indian music with various other genres like contemporary western classical, Jazz, Blues, Flamenco, Nordic folk, Balkan and African music. He has extensively toured Belgium, Greece, Switzerland, and Germany for his concerts.

Recently, he worked with Amit Trivedi, a celebrated Bollywood music director, for a film. He is currently also involved in a project called the Bombay Fusion Ensemble along with musicians from various countries and has performed at different venues.

Apart from being a performer and composer, Hindol is also a dedicated teacher and conducts workshops of Indian Classical music, improvisation, and compositional techniques in India and abroad.

Hindol Deb has undertaken various projects with many popular artists such as :-

1)      Indian Classical Music :- Indian Classical Music is an age old tradition based on spirituality and an Inward journey to re-establish one's relation with the outer world. Since this music is completely improvised and spontaneous, a complete performance is based on the time, weather, season and also the artist's emotion.

2)      Bombay Fusion Ensemble:- A world music Band, born out of the inspiration from the music of different cultures around the world. Mainly based on roots music from different countries, Bombay Fusion Ensemble has a strong influence of Indian sound to base its Origin.

3)      Srishtii Trio:-  Two of the most vibrant string instruments, Harp and the Sitar, have met to create Srishtii. Inspired by the Indian tradition, by contemporary western music, by Jazz and its avatars and also Greek and Turkish music, Srishtii is a world music reunion like no other: A subtle melt of Indian ragas, oriental modes, contemporary harmonies and myriad of diversified rhythms.

4)      Northlight :- Northlight represents the melding of two distinct but beautifully complementary styles of music, the Nordic (Scandinavian) tradition on the one hand, and the Hindustani tradition on the other.

5)      Jolt :- A 4 piece instrumental electro funky jazzy live jam band from new delhi. Formed in late 2010 , the band already has a 2 hour setlist with banging grooves and groovy basslines with electrifying guitars and transcending keyboards.

6)      Hindol Aditya Duo :-  An experimental modal Jazz setup formed by two friends, one with an Indian Classical background and the other in Jazz, having deep interest in each other’s Genre. The music is a blend of Jazz, Blues, Improvised and Indian music with nice grooves with soothing melodic lines.
