Dhananjay ji born in musical family, he is blessed with Traditional and Khandani music background.
This legacy started from his great grand father Pt. Bapurao Pandit who was well-known Pakhavaj Maestro in all over India, His son Pt. Mahadeo Rao Pandit who was Shehnai artist and vocalist and later his nephew Pt. Dnyaneshwar Pandit also started learning Shehnai from his uncle at very young age.
Pt. Dnyaneshwar Pandit was famous Shehnai artist in India. He performed his mesmerizing tone of shehnai in many big music programs, also he was learning harmonium from Ut. Sherkhan Saheb, so he was also known for master of sur/swar.
Dhananjay started learning Harmonium from his father at the age of 4, his elder brother Mukund Pandit was learning table from Pt. Vinayak Phatak and Nayan Ghhosh.
Dhananjay was child at that time, He got interest in Tabla, he started learning basic Tabla from his brother at age of 7.
Dhananjay's elder brother saw Dhananjay's intrest in Tabla and send him to Pt. Dayananand Paranjape further Tabla education. Dhananjay learned Tabla from Dayandanand Guruji till age of 114. After that he dicided to take advanced Tabla lessons from PT. Yogesh Samsi on the advice of Dayanand Guruji. He learned Tabla till age of 19. Yogesh Samsi observed and understand that expectation seeing Dhananjays
readiness to play Tabla, he permited Dhananjay to learn and take talim from Pt. Nayan Ghosh.
From there onwards, Dhananjay took Tabla Training under Pt. Nayan Ghosh for 25 years and durig these 25 years Dhananjay climbed many steps of progress, At the age of 12, he presented his first music and Tabla performance. Followed by playing Tabla in many small and big concerts . At the age of 25 he played his first foreign program in Dubai, Mascut with his guru Pt. Nayan Ghosh. Dhananjay is from Garukhabad Gharana.
Dhananjay has played Tabla in many foreign countries and has done Tabla sath-sangat (Accompaniment) with many famous andwel-known musicians such as his father Pt, Dnyaneshwar Pandit, Ut.Shahid Parvez, Shri. Shailesh Bhagwat. Dr. K. L. Ginde, Nandini Shankar, Pt. Suryakant Khaladkar, Shashikala Abhyankar, Milind Tulankar, Pt. Atul kumar Upadhye, Dr Dhananjay Diathankar Pt. Rajaendra Kulkarni, Shakir Khan, Bandopant Solapurkar, Ut. Usmaan Khan and his guru Pt. Nayan Ghosh and many others.
Dhananjay is the 4th Generation and now his Aditya Pandit is the 5th Generation of this legacy.
He is now working in Art of living school as HOD of fine arts department. Dhananjay Pandit was born in musical family, his grandfather Pt. Mahadeo Rao Pandit being a musicologist. His father Pt. Dnyaneshwar Pandit is a senior Shehnai artist & Harmonium player.
Dhananjay is the founder of Gurukrupa Sangeet Vidyalay (2000).
