Enchanting Shehnai recital (Shehnai Vadan) by Zamin Hussain Khan - Son and disciple of Bharat Ratna Ustad Bismillah khan. Shehnai(Mangal vadya) is an aerophonic (wind) instrument, a double reed conical oboe, common in North India, West India and Pakistan, made out of wood, with a metal flare bell at the end.

Training and Background
Born on 2 Aug 1944 in a Family of
Professional Shahnai players of a Princely state Bhojpur - Dumraon
Bihar under the able guidance of his father (Late 'Bharat Ratna' Ustad
Bismillah Khan) he learnt the instrisic crafts of the instrument and
since the tender age of 12 years, he started his practice (Reyaz) in
solitude on the Banks of the Ganges and in the devote temples like
'Jarau Mandir' and Mangla Gauri ' etc. with his father. His per
formances both in India and abroad have always forged links between men
temples and river a bond whose depth few can comprehend. He has the
blessings of the holy temples of Varanasi and observed many of
transcendental events during his practice in the temples. He however
avoids to quote them as advised by his great father and teacher. He has
toures with his father. Wherever he went for instance World Exposition
in Montreal (Canada) in year 1967. Cannes (France) Art Festival in 1969
and the world Exposition in OSAKA (JAPAN) in year 1970 etc.
