Ujjwal Kalamanch is a vibrant group of enthusiastic women dedicated to performing traditional Maharashtrian folk arts. This group, comprising 8-10 women, delivers energetic performances in dazzling traditional attire and ornaments. Their repertoire includes classic Mangalagauriche khel such as fugadi (basfugadi, ekhatachi fugadi, fulpakharu, kamal, etc.), pinga, zimma, fer, hatush pan bai, bhovar bhendi, lata bai lata, latya bai latya, sasu suneche khel, hodi, tikhat mith masala, ukhane, and more.
In addition to Mangalagauriche khel, Ujjwal Kalamanch also performs for Dohalejevan (baby showers) and barse (naming ceremonies). They sing traditional songs that offer blessings (ashirvad) for the child and the mother, wishing them good health, intelligence, and prosperity.
