Hailing from a family that has a strong background in arts and academics, Himali inherits music from her grandfather, her mother and her maternal grandmother. She started getting formal training in Indian classical (vocal) music at the tender age of four.
Himali holds a Master's degree in English and American literature from the Gujarat University. For her, words carry equal importance in the creation of her music. She is an avid reader of world literature - esp., romantic fiction and magical realism. It is her education in literature which has inspired her to write her songs on her own. Music is a gateway to pure joy and self-realization in Himali’s opinion. In addition to entertain people through her art, she also wants to be able to heal and cure the needful through her music.
