Om Kala Niketan Group Presents Dohalejewan Program

The function of Dohale-Jevan is arranged to  pour love on to the expecting mother. It is to create very soothing and positive impressions on the mother. Therefore various acts have been included to put the prospective mother in a state of bliss (peace, joy and motivational things).Entire family is very excited about this event and had so many ideas. The pregnant lady wears a variety of 'Wadis' (meaning bangles, necklace, etc made from flowers so that the pregnant lady does not feel the weight of jewellery) She is made to sit on lotus, Moon or hold the Dhanushya-baan. There are unique Dohale jevan songs specifically for DohaleJevan. These songs are about the baby-to-be, describing the baby to be handsome, brave intelligent and also bringing good luck to the family. Let some ladies of good voice sing a few sweet songs to bless this pregnant woman and her garbha.

Since 5 years "Om Kala Niketan" is performing "Mangalagaur", group consist of 10 to 15 members. We have participated in competitions held by popular newspapers like Maharashtra Times, Lokmat, Loksatta and received awards. Last year we have received 1st prize in Maharashtra Times's organized competition. We do take orders of performing Mangalagaur within and outside Mumbai. Apart from Mangalagaur we do perform Bhondala at the time of Navratri Utsav.

Mrs Madhuri Khamkar is the founder of this group. An entrepreneur having tuition classes in the field of singing and Indian dance specially Kathak.
