Omkar Agnihotri is a noted Indian classical harmonium player from Mumbai, Maharashtra. Deeply rooted in a lineage of classical musicians, Omkar’s musical journey began in a rich cultural environment shaped by his family—his father Uday Agnihotri is a tabla player, and his mother Manisha Agnihotri is a classical vocalist. His grandfather, Surmani Pt. Uttamrao Agnihotri, was an accomplished vocalist and harmonium player, whose legacy continues through Omkar’s artistry.
With a mission to elevate the harmonium as a solo concert instrument, Omkar is known for his innovative presentations and devotion to Indian classical traditions. He trained under the Khalifa of the Mewati Gharana, Ustad Siraj Khan, and expanded his musical language by learning piano from Adwait Biwalkar and keyboard from Nilesh Dewasthali. He also plays pianica/melodica, blending Indian and Western musical sensibilities.
He is a graded artist of All India Radio (AIR) and is empanelled with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). His appearance on Zee Yuva’s reality show Sangeet Samrat in 2017 brought him into the public spotlight, where he was recognized as the only harmonium player among the top 24 finalists across Maharashtra.
