   Biography
A scholarship holder in Sattriya, under her guru’s guidance in a project of Sangeet Natak Akademi 'Sattriya Dance & Music' She is an empanelled solo Artist of the I.C.C.R. She is also the dance teacher in the reputed Sarla Birla Gyan Joyti School since 2007. Sangita is also the founder of a rapidly growing Sattriya & Bharatnatyam Dance Institute named 'Ghunguru Dance Academy' in the heart of Guwahati City. With a aim to do something for the young talents, she started a National Dance & Music Festival named 'Brahmaputra Mahotsav' from 2011. She has performed at Dibrugarh Doordarshan Kendra, Assam. Sangita has cut a place for herself in the field of choreography & choreographed dance drama.

One of the leading young soloists of the country Sangita is an accomplished & versatile Sattriya artist from Guwahati, Assam. She has devoted herself to dancing from a very young age. Under the guidance of Padmashree Nrityacharya Jatin Goswami she has completed her course in Sattriya Dance.
Sangita has enthralled the audience with compelling & arresting stage presence with her distinguished style, a rare combination of intensity & spontaneity. She has also been trained in art of Bharatnatyam under Guru Pronamika Das.

Sangita Arts Graduate from Gauhati University has also done her B.Mus in Sattriya & Bharatnatyam. Presently she is inheriting her advance classes on the knowledge of Abhinaya from Guru Anita Sharma. Learned Deodhani Dance under Lalit Ch. Nath Oja (Sangeet Natak Akademi Awarded) & Guru Gunakar Dev Goswami.
Besides all these she also loves to perform the various Folk Dances of Assam i.e. Bihu, Jhumur, Boro, Karbi, Mishing etc.

The Kalbeliyas, is a snake-charmer community from Rajasthan, which performs the Kalbeliya dance. They rely heavily on this dance performance for their living. The Kalbeliya women dancers wear long, black coloured, drindled-skirts heavily worked with embroidery and light-coloured thread along with small pieces of mirrors. This costume draws the attention in a somewhat strange way. The dance is usually performed by a pair of dancers.
