Raj Kumar Majumdar presents Santoor recital

Raj Kumar Majumdar is one of the versatile  Santoor  player among the upcoming artists of the country.Raj Kumar Majumdar received his initial training in Tabla from his father , a renowned classical vocalist late  Sangeet  Sadhak  Pandit   Prashant  Majumdar, a contemporary of Pandit Ravi Shankar, late Pandit  Onkarnath Thakur,  Pandit Bhimsen Joshi,  Ustad Vilayat Khan,  Ustad Ali Akbar Khan and many such internationally famous musicians.  He further received training in Tabla under the able tutelage of Pt.  Prem  Ballabh of Delhi Gharana, Prof. Gyan Prakash Ghosh of  Farukkabad  Gharana and late Pt.  Shamta Prasad of Benaras  Gharana.  A Gold Medalist in Tabla playing, his dedication in accompanying Tabla with any kind of vocal or instrumental music is simply superb. His deep saadhna enabled him to turn adversity to advantage and surpass limitation by indomitable spirit of mind to reach the pinnacle of the musical world.

Rajkumar belongs to a family of vocalist, his fascination with 'Rhythm and Swaras'coed towards making him an avowed instrumentalist.

Known for a unique style of performance and sound quality, he is highly appreciated and loved by all the music lovers specially for his superb skill of playing Santoor by playing both his arms in a jubilant style.

Although Rajkumar belongs to a family of vocalist, his fascination with 'Rhythm and Swaras' contributed towards making him an avowed instrumentalist who went on to win following National level and International level Awards by various musical organizations.
