Madhavapeddi Murthy is the son of Late Madhavapeddi Satyam - noted play-back singer. Murthy has learnt Kuchipudi under the tutelage of Guru Dr. Vempati Chinna Satyam, Founder-Director, Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai ,for more than 20 years. Hailing from Andhra Pradesh and having this artistic family background it is but natural for Murthy to excel in his chosen form of art-Kuchipudi. He was also trained in classical music for a few years.
Madhavapeddi has portrayed major roles in different Dance-dramas presented by his Guru’s Academy.He has performed in Major Festivals like Haridas Sangeet Samaroh,Taj Mahotsav, Puri Beach Festival,Malabar Mahotsav,Hampi Utsav, Khajuraho Festival,Ganesh Mahotsav,Purush Festival,Visakha Utsav,Island Festival, Ellora Festival, Taramathi Baradari Festival, Nimad Festival , Bittoor-Ganga Mahotsav, Cuddapah Festival, Kuchipudi Mahotsav ,etc to name a few. Apart from festivals across the Country he has performed for Corporates ,Sabhas,Cultural organizations and Conferences, etc.
Madhavapeddi Murthy has performed for various temples all over the country and also for religious events like Bhagwan Sathya Saibaba’s 70th Birthday celebrations at Puttaparthy m, Paramacharya’s centenary celebrations at Kancheepuram, Bhagwan Yogiram Surat kumar’s 78th Birthday celebrations at Thiruvannamalai ,Sri Sri Ravishanker (Art of Living) at Bangalore, Brahmotsavam of Lord Venkateswara Swamy at Tirupathi ,Brahmotsavam of Sri Padmavathi Ammavaru at Thiruchanoor, Mahamasthakabhishekam at Shravanabelagola , Ardh Kumbh Mela at Allahabad to name a few.
Madhavapeddi has traveled world wide giving performances, Demonstrations, Workshops in countries like USA, Canada, France, Belgium, Switzerland, South Africa, Mauritius, Australia, Newzealand , Indonesia, Japan, Algeria, Kuwait, UAE , Singapore, Malaysia, Hongkong , Turkmenistan, Russia, BeiloRussia, Uzbekistan , Kirgizia, etc.
Madhavapeddi Murthy performs classical dance shows with leading Danseuses Hemamalini and Meenakshi Seshadri . He has acted in some telugu and tamil TV Serials . He has also performed in a dance sequence from K.Viswanath’s film Swaraabhishekam.
Madhavapeddi is an empanelled artist in the ICCR ( Indian Council For Cultural Relations ) and is the recipient of KALAIMAMANI AWARD instituted by Tamilnadu Government and other titles like Sathya Tandava Sundaram by Bhratanjali , Natya Kala Vipanchee by M B K Trust, Natya Siromani in Canberra, Australia. With his busy schedule of performing , he also runs a dance institution SIVA FOUNDATION in Chennai . He also organizes events for various organizations both in India and Abroad.
