Born in a typical Maharashtrian family at Lonavala, Vivek
inherits music as a family tradition. Though his father Shri. Narendra
Bhalerao, has not received any formal training in classical music, sings well,
well tabla player whereas his mother Late Mrs. Sharada Bhalerao, being a lover
of music herself, always encouraged Vivek and his siblings to learn music from
their early childhood.
Vivek started getting Tabla Talim (training) at the age of
10 yrs under Pandit Bajirao Sonavane for 4 years. Later on, he continued his
training under the able guidance from Shri Narayan Jagtap and Shri Sanjay
Deshpande.
Now he continues his training under eminent tabla player
& Guru Pandit Umesh Moghe, a disciple of Pandit Sudhirji Mainkar, great
tabla player of Delhi Gharana.
Vivek Bhalerao, a paragon of dedication and perseverance,
indispensable for pursuing a career in Indian classical music.
?He has got many opportunities to accompany with great
Classical Vocalists, Instrumentalists and Kathak Dancers.
?Vivek plays Jugalbandi and Tal-vadya Kacheri with different
instruments as well as Solo performances.
Tabla being an important instrument in the world of Indian
classical music the only way to keep this great tradition alive and help grow
it is by spreading the knowledge.
With this thought in mind ‘Sharada Tabla Class’ was founded
by Vivek Bhalerao in March 2012 in an attempt to keep the guru shishya
parampara alive.
