In his quest of knowledge, he soon became much sought after researcher. He gave valuable musical material in 1994-5 for 39 Siddha for the TV serial telecast on Doordarshan.
In his writing career of 15 years, he has contributed more than 330 reviews and articles in about 25 news papers and periodicals like Indian Express, Observer, Pioneer, Nav Bharat Times, Nav Bharat, Mahanagar, Times of India, Front Line, Dharma Yug, AVMax, Sangeet, ITC-SRA Journal, Dharma Yug, Bhavan’s Journal, Femina,to name a few.
He has served as a Director of Cultural Activities in Laxmi Education Society’s Chinai College and LUMV College, Andheri-E, Mumbai in 2000-02.
He contributed more than 60 articles in 2000 for the website dhadkan.com on ghazal poets, ghazal singers and on various aspects of Urdu ghazals in general. He has published his research-oriented book Ameer Khusro The Great Indian from BPI India Pvt Ltd, Delhi (2004). His Bengali work Ameer Khusro Bharotiyo (2003) was published by Mallick Brothers of Calcutta.
He visited Germany (Stuttgart and Bonn) in June-July-2008 and Fiji Islands to present Indian music. R. K. Das has presented his vocal recital for the DD--TV channels Sahyadri and Bengali Kolkata. He has a sweet and powerful voice ranging 3 octaves. He is adept in rendering varieties of gamak, tan and rhythmic interplays. He is a graded artiste of All India Radio for Dhrupad-Dhamar category.R K Das has performed for various musical organisations, some of them being Chauruaha, NCPA, Shiva Sageetanjali, Ganguli College of Music, ISKCON, Miraj, etc in Mumbai, Varanasi and Kolkata. Some of the music critics of leading newspapers have given excellent reviews for his concerts and lec-dems.
