Biography
Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasiaji gave him first opportunity to accompany himself at the prestigious ‘Sawai Gandharva Music Festival’ held at Pune in 1995. Panditji was so much convinced about Sunil after that concert, that he began seeking Sunil’s flute support almost in each of his concert. Now Sunil’s accompaniment along with his Guru has become a regular feature in almost all the concerts that Hariji performs; in India and abroad.
This hands on experience has immensely improved up his style of playing the bamboo flute! Sunil is ‘A’ grade artist of AIR- All India Radio and Television. He regularly performs there. He is an empanelled artist of ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) too.

Career
Sunil Avachat is not only a solo flautist but, also a versatile musician, performing with different kinds of music forms. Recently Sunil performed in world famous ‘Woodstock Festival’ in Poland with Indian musicians group. In Germany, he blended his music nicely with ‘Flamenco’ style of music and dance. The project was very successful there. He had performed with tradition instruments of South Korea like ‘khayagum’, 'Azeng' etc. In India, he regularly performs with many music troupes in light music, fusion bands, dance troupes, recordings for various films/TV projects etc. He did some successful duet music concerts with instruments like santoor, violin etc. He also worked with some of the classical vocalists.

Sunil is also a good ‘flute maker’ too!! The professional flutes in his kit are all made by him. Guru Pt. Hariprasadji is very fond of flutes made by him and often plays them in concerts. Many other professional flautists also use his flute in concerts.

Awards & Achievements
Sunil Avachat is ‘A’ grade artist of AIR- All India Radio and Television.
Flute making is equally important as flute playing. Fine tuned flutes give utmost satisfaction as compared to general tuned flutes while playing. The journey began thus and attracted many other colleagues to his flutes!! Even his gurus ‘Hariji’ and ‘Arvindji’ appreciate his flute making. It’s a different art than playing which Sunil adopted with good proficiency.
