Madhav Bhagwat - a rising star in the world of gazals
Madhav M Bhagwat learnt classical vocal from his father, a famous vocalist late Shree Manohar Bhagwat of Gwalior gharana and learned Thumari, Dadara, Ghazals from Ustad Nissar Hussain Khan of Jaipur. Madhav Bhagwat is a well-known name in the world of Light music. He sings all the forms of sugam sangeet like geet, ghazal, bhajan, abhang and bhavgeet.
"When singing a Gazal one must keep in mind that the pronunciation of Urdu words must be prim-n-proper. Also, one must have on up-to-date information about its literature”. These were the golden aspects of guidance to Mr. Madhav by the famous Shayar Ustaad Naseem Rafat.
Madhav Bhagwat has completed his M.Com. from Madhav Mahavidyalay (Jiwaji university) Gwalior. In 1988 he earned the foremost position in classical singing in the Madhya Pradesh Youth Festival and in the year 1989 he once again bagged the first position for Light Vocal in the youth festival held by the Association of Indian Universities. In the year 1989 , Madhav Bhagwat settled in Mumbai. On arrival in Mumbai, Shri. Bhagwat played leading roles in the musical plays and concerts such as ‘Haach Mulacha Baao’, ‘Sur Nahi Samplele’ and Man Maazhe Rangle. He bagged a Bronze Medal in the Maharashtra Rajya Natya Competition for his Classic and outstanding performance in Sur Nahi Samplele.
Shri. Madhav Bhagwat along with his wife Smt. Suchitra Bhagwat has also released some audio cassettes and Cds like ‘Afsana', Bhajo Ram Ram', 'Om Namah Shivay’, 'Kasheeda', 'Kaifiyat', Resheem', etc. and also given playback to TV serial "Bhagya Vidhata". Madhav Bhagwat has given music direction for Marathi movie "Ghar doghanche".

Music runs in the family
Madhav Bhagwat was initiated into music by his father Late. Pandit Manohar Bhagwat. Pandit Manohar Bhagwat was an exponent of Gwalior gharana. He has the book Swarali to his credit. The book Swarali is a grand collection of his compositions.
Akshay, son of Madhav Bhagwat has given playback for the film song Chanda Chamke Cham Cham from the popular Hindi film Fanaa.
