Biography

Was born in a musical family and was introduced to music at the age of 5 by his mother and first guru, Smt. Reena Bhattacharjee. Since the age of 10 he has been undergoing training from the universally acclaimed musician and maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. Has performed in several prestigious musical concerts across the globe and has created a separate niche in the world of elite musicians. Deborshee has already marked his versatility among the audience as he has been performing and composing different genres of music all over the world.Have an album, “New Signature” released by Ustad Zakir Hussain from “Geetinandan,” which incidentally happens to be my debut album.Have been blessed by stalwarts of Indian Music such as Late Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Vidushi Lata Mangeshkar, Pt. Ravi Shankar, Pt Shiv Kumar Sharma,Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia Pt. Jasraj, Late Ustad Sultan Khan, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Suresh Wadkar, Pt. Rajan and Sajan Mishra ,Sonu Nigam,Shankar Mahadevan.

Career

A senior Musician Scholar of ITC Sangeet Research Academy,Kolkata ,Deborshee was born in a musical family and was introduced to music at the age of 5 by his mother and first guru, Smt. Reena Bhattacharjee. Since the age of 10 he has been undergoing training from the universally acclaimed musician and maestro Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty. Has performed in several prestigious musical concerts across the globe and has created a separate niche in the world of elite musicians. Deborshee has already marked his versatility among the audience as he has been

performing and composing different genres of music all over the world.Was the founder of the group ‘Dhun’ where he composed some popular songs.Also equally comfortable in performing other genres of music like Bhajans, Quawali, Sufi, Tappa, Rabindra Sangeet, Nazrul Geeti, Bengali and Hindi modern songs etc.

Has been a prolific performer from the age of 10 when he made his debut at Sisirmancha.A regular performer has been accepted by listeners from all over the world.Some important performances include Dharwar Utsav, Dharwar,Pt. Nand Kishore Sharma Music Festival,Bhopal,ITC SRA Sangeet Sammelan, Kolkata,Dr.Vasant Rao Deshpande Smriti Samaroh,Nagpur,Bhavan’s Cultural Centre,Mumbaietc.Recently extensively toured Muscat & China for prestigious concerts.A B-High graded artist of All India Radio and a regular performer in Television.
