I am a professional flute artist and teacher with around 15 years of experience in teaching and performing flute music. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to train students with different levels of musical understanding and help them develop their flute-playing skills. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and helping students build confidence and a genuine interest in music.
I received my flute training at Ramani’s Academy of Flute, where I learned the fundamentals of flute performance and developed my understanding of music. Although I do not hold a formal certification or diploma in flute, my 15 years of practical experience in both teaching and performing have helped me develop strong musical skills and a practical understanding of the instrument.
I specialise in teaching Carnatic music, devotional songs, and cinema songs on the flute. I believe that learning an instrument should be both technically strong and enjoyable, so I encourage students to develop their fundamentals while also learning songs that interest them. This helps students stay motivated and gradually become more comfortable with the instrument.
My teaching approach focuses on building strong fundamentals before moving towards more advanced techniques. I work with students on areas such as proper handling of the flute, finger placement, breath control, notes, rhythm, timing, and playing techniques. I explain each aspect patiently and allow students enough time to practise and become comfortable before progressing to the next stage.
I also adapt my lessons according to the student's current skill level and musical goals. Beginners can start with the basic techniques and gradually learn simple compositions, while students with prior experience can work on improving their technique, musical expression, accuracy, and confidence. I encourage students to practise regularly so that they can steadily improve their playing.
My experience as a performing artist also helps me bring practical musical knowledge into my classes. I believe that consistent practice and active listening are important parts of becoming a better musician. I encourage students to listen carefully to music, understand rhythm and melody, and develop their own confidence while performing the pieces they learn.
I conduct flute classes both online and offline and focus on creating a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. My goal is to help students develop a strong foundation in flute, learn Carnatic, devotional, and cinema songs with confidence, improve their technique through regular practice, and enjoy the process of learning and performing music.
