Shubham Sarkar is an internationally acclaimed young Hindustani classical violinist from Delhi, admired for his soulful blend of Gayaki Angh and virtuoso violin artistry. He began his musical journey at the age of 11 under the tutelage of Pt. S.L. Kandara and later received invaluable guidance from the legendary Padmashree Pt. Bhajan Sopori. Currently, he continues his training with Violin Maestro Dr. Santosh Nahar and is also learning Gayaki Angh from Vidushi Dr. Mallika Bannerji.
At just 13, Shubham gave his first violin recital in Delhi and captivated audiences with his command and maturity. He went on to complete his Master’s degree (M.A. in Music, Violin) from Delhi University in 2018, while winning numerous accolades at zonal, district, and state levels. A versatile artist, he is also trained in Western Classical Violin, holding a Grade 4 degree from Trinity College, London.
Blessed and encouraged by maestros such as Pt. Debu Chaudhuri, Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Vidushi Sumitra Guha, Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, and Vidushi Savita Devi, Shubham has emerged as one of the most promising violinists of his generation.
