   Biography
Avijit Kundu, the pioneer of the new generation of classical practice in Bangladesh, was born in 1991 in Dhaka. Father Jibon Kundu and mother Niyoti Kundu. With the keen interest of his parents, he started learning music from Sri Gobindo Gautam at 'Sangeet Niketan' . Afterwards he completed his musical lessons on "Nazrul Sangeet" in the music department at Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyayatan and took Khayal training in Indore Gharana system from music guru Shri Asit Dey. Later, in 2015, as a scholar of Dhrupad of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay Bangladesh, which consists of Indian gurus, he started taking classical training in the famous Dagarbani system under the presence of Pandit Uday Bhawalkar and is still learning.

Avijit, who worked with a vow to establish and spread Dhrupad in Bangladesh in modern times, also studied music. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in music from the University of Development Alternative (UODA). 

Avijit Kundu is currently Associate Guru of Classical Music Department of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay, Teacher of Classical Department of Chhayanaut Sangeet Bidyayatan. He is also a regular artist listed in Bangladesh Television Dhaka and Chittagong Center. He is working tirelessly to increase the interest in the practice of classical and classical music in the country and outside the country. Drupad artist Avijit Kundu has spread fascination and earned fame by performing Dhrapads in various parts of the country and abroad.
