Abhay Gadre is a highly accomplished musician with a deep and varied educational background, including a B.Sc., B.Ed., M.A., NET, and Ph.D. He holds a Visharad degree from ABGM, completed three levels of Sanskrit studies at Tilak Vidyapith, and has a Yog Pravesh certification from Yog Vidyadham. With 30 years of teaching experience, Abhay has served as the Head of the Music Department at Women's College in Khamgaon, affiliated with Sant Gadgebaba University, Amravati. He also held a Board of Study (BOS) position for five years.
Abhay is a classical singer with a B-High grade from All India Radio (AIR), Nagpur, where he has been a performer since 1992. His musical journey has been shaped by renowned gurus such as Late Shri Nanasaheb Deshpande, Late Sumantai Choudhari, Shri Sudhakar Pradhan (Violin & Singing), Late Shri Radhkrishna Alshi (Singing), Late Shri Manohar Kavishwar (Natya Sangeet), and Shri Shyam Dadape of Hyderabad.
Abhay has performed extensively across Maharashtra, Hyderabad, Delhi, Jaipur, Goa, and other regions. Notably, he played the lead role in the music drama "Sangeet Sharada," a social and musical drama by G.B. Deval, directed by Late Shri Manohar Kavishwar. His performances have earned him several prestigious felicitations, including those from legendary music director Shri Naushadji, Hon'ble Central Minister of Information and Broadcasting Shri Vasantrao Sathe, legendary poet Shri Suresh Bhat, and classical singer Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki.
As an educator, Abhay has mentored more than 50 students in M.A. Music and Sangeet Visharad. His guidance has led to two students earning Ph.D.s and four students clearing the National Eligibility Test (NET), who are now working in schools and colleges. Several of his students have gone on to become performing artists.
Abhay has published more than 20 research papers in various journals and has contributed writings to local newspapers like Loksatta, Lokmat, Maharashtra Times, and Deshonnati. His contributions to music direction include composing for works such as "Krishndas Gatha," "Vasudev Gatha," "Datta Gatha" (poetry by Shri Ajay Tamhan), and "Vasantsudha," an e-book by Dr. Dhanashri Pande, published by Sonic Octaves.
