I'm Harshad Kamble, and my musical journey began when I was just 22 years old. Back then, I was a mechanical engineer - an ordinary guy, like you, with a deep passion for music.
In 2014, as I planned to pursue further studies in Germany, a faint thought crossed my mind: Why not delve into the world of classical music to refine my voice? With that spark, I approached a local music teacher. On the very first day, I was disappointed because I wasn't singing Sa (Shadj) correctly. But on the second day, something magical happened. I fell head over heels inlove with the intricate world of sur, taal, and raagas in Hindustani classical music. It's a feeling that words can't truly capture.
Within a week, classical music had become an inseparable part of me.My passion for music grew stronger with each passing day. In just a month, I made a life-altering decision -
I abandoned my plans to study in Germany.
Three months later, my family sent me to Mumbai for a new job, believing I had become obsessed with music. It was in Mumbai, by sheer chance, that I crossed paths with my Guru, Pt. Arun Kashalkar, a master of the Agra and Gwalior gharanas of Hindustani classical music. I became his devoted disciple and embarked on my taleem (musical education) under his guidance.
However, my dedication to learning music remained un wavering. Thanks to my guruji's relentless efforts, I started singing even the most intricate ragas with ease. It was then that I made a solemn commitment - to pass on the treasure trove of knowledge I had acquired to aspiring, passionate singers. I wanted to teach them everything I had learned in the same spirit and tradition that my guruji had imparted to me.
