Nishi Ratnam

Nishi Ratnam has been training for past two decades under able gurus like Late Pt. Raghaw Sah, Vidushi Kajal Sharma and Vidushi Mahua Shankar all of whom are disciples of Padma Vibhushan Pt. Birju Maharaj and artistes of rare repute. Nishi has been appreciated by artistes like Vidushi Anupama Bhagwat (eminent Sitar artiste of     international repute), Sangeet Ratna Pt. Prabir Bhattacharya (eminent sitar artiste), Shri Biswajit Pal (eminent Tabla artiste from Kolkata etc.). She has collaborated with many artistes of international and national repute and has been performing all over the country as a solo artiste. Apart from a Kathak artiste, she has been academic high achiever being an engineer from an N.I.T and an M.B.A from the coveted Indian School of Business (ISB)- Hyderabad. Along with performing she has also trained nearly 100 students, some of whom are already a part of her regular repertoire and are evolving as professional dancers. She has also been recommended favourably by UP, SNA awardee, London based danseuse and senior disciple of Pt. Birju Maharaj, Vidushi Kajal Sharm ji (certificate letter attached). 

Her performances are noted for technical purity of Lucknow gharana and her impeccable command on lay and abhinaya paksha.

Her notable performances include:

* Taj Agra Mahotsav organized by Govt. of Uttar Pradesh, 20023- Nishi collaborated with Vidushi Kajal Sharma to perform Kathak.                                                                                                                

* Tarangini annual music fest Bengaluru , 2023-  Nishi was invited along with several other celebrated artistes like Vidushi Anupama Bhagwat and Vidwaan Praveen Godkhindi for a Kathak recital and was applauded for her performance.  

                       

* Performed at Jagriti Theatre along with  internationally renowned artistes like Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri- Attached is the video of receiving award from Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri 

 

* Performed for the digital baithiki series, Madhubanti Sangeet Kendra, Bangladesh where many eminent artistes also performed. 

 

* Solo performance on taal dhamaar for Shantiniketan Ganesh Utsav Samiti.

* Performance for TACT Noopuram, Bengaluru on Ardhanareeshwar stuti composed by Pt. Birju Maharaj.
