Biography

Dr. Pankaj Riyaz Lahora is a renowned multifaceted performer of Senia & Delhi Gharana. He is also an outstanding Sufi singer & Sitarist of India. His style of playing Sitar & singing sparkles with the rare combination of virtuosity with a deep sensation of aesthetic. He is also well known of his Qawwali, Bhajan & Ghazal singing. Although he has not been groomed in the "Traditional Gayaki" of Hindustani Classical Music since his birth, yet he achieved fame at a very young age. Dr.Pankaj Riyaz is a successor to "Senia" tradition in classical music (Sitar). He has received guidance in Sitar from world famous Sitar Maestro Padam Bhushan Pandit Debu Chaudhuri, Sangeet Ratna Pandit Prateek Chaudhuri & Dr. Ravinder Adeshra. He is the disciple of renowned vocalist Ustad Iqbal Ahmed Khan. He has also received blessings from Ustad Humsar Hayat Nizami, Haji Aslam Sabri & Padamshree Hansraj Hans ji.

Pankaj's Unique Quality or Feature

Dr.Pankaj is deeply inspired by the unique & marvelous contribution of the world famous Sufi Mystic, Poet, Historian, Philosopher, Linguistics, Polyglot, Lexicographer, Astronomer, Astrologer & Musician Hazrat Amir Khusro Dehlavi in Hindustani Music. He has mastered in Vocal, especially Sufi Mystical Poetry singing i.e. Qawwali, an innovation of Amir Khusro in 13th & 14th century. Dr. Pankaj is a very spiritual & kind hearted person by nature. He believes in Humanity, Sincerity, Hard Work, Honesty, Dedication, Spirituality & Charity. Thus, he is involved in various social & cultural activities. He is also a great devotee of Sai Baba of Shirdi & Lord Swaminarayan.

Career

Pankaj Riyaz Lahora has performed throughout the world in countries like Turkey, Syria, Jordan, Japan, Singapore, China etc.

He has created a world record by performing at Noor Mahal (Punjab) during Divya Shanti Mahotsav in front of 30 lacs audience, 2010.

Represented India in "Indian Cultural Centre" in Japan 2009 sponsored by ICCR.

Participated in “Festival of Syria” in 2008.

He has performed in “International Ambedkar Conclave” in 2017-18 for the Hon. President of India.

He has performed in the Sufiyana Evening,”Googl-e-Mursheed” at Dr. Ambedkar International Center, hosted by DJJS in 2018.

He has performed in the,”The Annual Life Sciences Festival: Genesis 2016”, titled ‘Mehfil-e-Qawwali’, celebrating 100 years of Ramjas College.

Performed as a Sitarist for "SITARS OF INDIA" group 2011 during the launch of this group in India in Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Performed Sufiyana Qawwali's in "Sham-e-Murshid", a unique concert giving a Sufi spiritual message to the commercial corporate world as a financial help to the people suffering from a natural calamity flood (Uttarakhand) in 2013 at Sirifort Auditorium, Delhi.

He has performed in the prestigious, ”Sazda” spiritual concert of Divya Jyoti Jagran Sansthan in 2013 held at Tihar Jail.
