Ramesh Raikar is from Haliyal of uttar kannada District, Karnatak, 'B' H-grade artist Of AIR. A music lover since birth, attracted by the melodious sound of Jalatarang. The Jal Tarang is an Indian melodic percussion instrument. It consists of a set of ceramic bowls tuned with water. The bowls are played by striking the edge with beaters softly,each . He found some difficulty in playing such a long instrument and thought of modifying it. A great mestro Pandit Shivakumar Sharmaji's Santoor inspired me to have changes in riders & instrument Now the instrument is modified by introducing a platform, modification in riders and leveling the cups . This will helps to produce multiple stroke effect and play in Gaayki style.It is JALAMANDAL. He is very much grateful to his Guruji Late Pt. Dhanayat Rao of Haliyal for his eminent guidance.
