   Biography
Anand Kashikar started learning flute in his teenage and received many awards from South central zone cultural  centre's competitions, Youth festival of Mumbai university, Swar Sadhana Samiti annual competitions etc. He has received  training and guidance from late Pt. Malharrao Kulkarni for 18 years.  His Guru was aware of his ability and keen interest of  learning, gave him the opportunity to participate in many of the learning sessions of Padmavibhushan Hariprasad Chaurasia the internationally famous name in Classical Music. These were the great golden opportunities to watch and listen to Pt.  Harijee's flute - music. Here he got a chance to develop himself in almost all the aspects of flute playing. He has learned  solo, accompanying with classical, semi-classical or light music concerts. Even he has to his credit some fusion based programmers that blends with western music. He has accompanied many famous artists in Kathak and other dances with great  maestro Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, Smt. Archana Joglekar, Smt. Sunayana Hajarilal and many other artists.

   Career
Anand Kashikar has performed in Karnatak Sangh, Matunga and Kala-Diary two days sangeet mohotsav held in  Mumbai in which top class artists from all over the nation performed and the same was telecasted live on internet. He has performed in 'Kala Sangeet Mohotsav', a prestigious music festival held at Ratnangiri where India's leading music maestros participated. He also performed at 'Nadabrahma', Borivali. He has given many other performances at Indore, Delhi, Jhansi, Goa, Ahmedabad, Amravati, Surat, Chennai in various cultural centres events, festivals, Kala Mahotsav and solo concerts in  'Osho spiritual Institution' in India. He has accompanied many artists in Bharatnatyam a South Indian dance form, also accompanied compositions of Ravindra Sangeet. He has also performed abroad in Germany and got a lot of appreciation in press there. He also gave duet concerts with Santoor artist Shri. Nandkishor Muley in Berlin. There he also worked as a main musician to the Indian Folk Dance group. He regularly performs on some famous channels of TV. like Star TV., Sahyadri and also on Radio. He is accompanying a well known sangeet  group of Pt. Anupam Rai from 16 years. He is associated with Pandit Sudhir Mainkar, a well-known musicologist, and assisted him for his research work on 'Aesthetics of Tabla'.

   Awards & Achievements
*  Anand Kashikar has to his credit many honours and awards for his great work in music field. He is honoured  with 'Nav- Ninad puraskar' from 'Sabgitanjalee' an Institute devoted  to classical music and dance in Mumbai, at the hands of  Padmashree Sitara Devi. Panchratna(one of the five devoted musicians of the area from Dahisar to Kandivali) for his devoted  work in the field of Indian classical music as a performer and as a Guru.

*  He has been felicitated by Khalvayan Santha at Ratnagiri. He was honoured for his job as a devoted 'Guru' when his 3 disciples performed solo flute recitals in the 'Guru Bhakti', a programme devoted to three top Gurus of the Indian classical  music, organized by Sharada Sangeet Vidyalay, Bandra, along with the two other Gurus namely Pt. Arvind Mulgaonkar and Pandita  Padmatai Talwalkar. This was the honour of his success as a Guru in the field of Indian Classical Music for last 20 years. Today he has got to his credit a name in the Indian Classical Music as an exponent and a Guru.
