Rinku Bhattacharya Das

Rinku Bhattacharya Das is a classical Manipuri dancer from India based in the USA from 2009 onward. She has received rigorous training for 20 years in Manipuri dance from the legendary Guru Bipin Singh. At present she is working to promote Manipuri dance internationally under the guidance of Guru Padmashri Darshana Jhaveri. 

Rinku has performed all over India and received various awards and recognitions like Indian National Scholarship, Heritage Award for Excellence in Classical Dance and 2013 Ella Pratt Fountain Emerging Artist Grant, Durham Arts Council, USA. 

At present she is pursuing her dance career as a full time classical dance teacher and performer in Kolkata and at World in Motion dance Academy (USA) She is the artistic Director of Nrityajyoti Dance Academy in Kolkata and USA. Based in Durham from 2009, she is engaged in promoting Indian culture through classical dance. 

Ritu is also the founder and director of Nrityajyoti Dance Academy in Kolkata and USA. She is devoted to promote and preserve the rich heritage of Manipuri dance internationally. Her rich experience to enthrall and engross her audience, until the very end, with her charming and graceful movements have always left an unforgettable impression on the audience.

Rinku has performed all over India and received various awards and recognition. Some of her major dance events have been: The Erasing Borders Festival of  Indo-American Arts Council in  Manhattan, New York, North American Bengali Conferences in Houston and Las Vegas,  Tagore Festival in Nicholas Center New Jersey, North Carolina Azalea Festival, South Eastern Center for Contemporary Art Museum USA, The New Delhi Arts Festival, National Center of Performing Arts Mumbai, Konarak Festival, Tagore Festival in Mumbai, Manipuri Classical night in Kolkata etc. Major dance productions being (Samarpan, Mani-Katha, Dhaki Utsav, Aum Sad Guru bhayo Namaho ,Chirantanee and Tandav-Laasya ).

Rinku Bhattacharya Das has performed in various festivals in India and in USA with the production of 'Legacy of Guru Bipin Singh' (Immortal creation of traditional Manipuri dance choreographed by Guru Bipin Singh) in major festivals such as Delhi International Arts Festival, National Center for Performing Arts in Mumbai, Uma Dogra's raindrop festival, Indo American Arts Council in USA, International Dance Festival in India and many others.
