Biography

Sagar Sawarkar is a young and talented artist from India, who is fast gaining recognition in circles around the world. Apart from the freshness and exuberance in Sagar's voice, it is the originality of the tone that sets him apart.

Sagar manifested musical abilities at an early age and diligent training resulted in the imbibing of a heterogeneous mix of singing genres. He has had the privileged tutelage of various veteran artistes like Pt. Ram Deshpande, Pt. Shivanand Patil, Shri Gopalrao Kaushik and Smt. Ushatai Parkhi.

The most noticeable feature in Sagar's performances is the ease with which he is able to render compositions in various languages. His demeanor compliments not only soothing classical ragas but also upbeat energetic modern music. He is indeed, versatility personified!

He has appeared on various television shows but it was Sony Television's Reality Show ‘Indian Idol’ that offered him an International platform and put him in spotlight. He has also been associated with Walt Disney Productions for several years as a Singer and Voice Over artiste. The maturity and versatility one finds in Sagar's voice is as commendable as it is rare.

Sagar holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and a Masters Degree in English Literature. But Music a has always been his true calling, inspiring him to carve a distinct and steadily growing niche for himself. So far he has performed in over 800 concerts in India and abroad.

Career

Sagar has performed a successful series of shows all over India and abroad in Dubai (UAE), Cambodia (Phnom Penh), Malawi (Blantyre), Zimbabwe (Harare), Tanzania (Dar-es-Salaam), Curacao (Caribbean Islands), Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Paris (France) and Kuwait.

He has performed on various channels like Star Plus, E TV Urdu, E TV Marathi, Sahyadri Channel and Sahara Manoranjan to name a few.

He has performed in various corporate shows for Merrill lynch Pvt Ltd, Price Water House Coopers Ltd, Lions Club, Rotary Club, Juhu Club, Prempuri Ashram, State Bank Officers' Association, D. Y. Patil Doctors' Association, Andhra Bank Officers' Association, Reliance Group of Industries to name a few.
Sagar has sung for various reputed music circles like Keep Alive, Musicolor, Klub Nostalgia, Soham Pratishthan, Kala Gurjari, Swar Gandhar, Sakshidar Prakashan and Tirakita Dha, Moorchana and Saptasur Productions!

He has recorded corporate jingles in Hindi, English., Bangla, Gujarati, Oriya, Tamil and Telugu.

Awards & Achievements

Sagar is one of the top finalists of television reality show Indian Idol (Season II) (Sony Entertainment Television).

He has been associated with Walt Disney Productions as an anchor and singer for the show 'Studio Disney' and has dubbed for several Disney productions like "High School Musical", "Hannah Montana", "Aron Stone", "Zeke and Luther", "Sonny with a chance" and "I'm in the Band". He has sung for a Walt Disney Movie "Starstruck", animated series “Phineas and Ferb” and “Fishhooks”.

Sagar has recorded bumpers and voice-overs for Nickelodeon (VIACOM 18), Warner Bros (Action Series Generator Rex) and Walt Disney productions.
