Born in 1976, Sanjay Garud - an exponent of Kirana Gharana has inherited the legacy of classical music, through the Bhajans, since his childhood from his father & grandfather Shri. Maruti Garud, who has been a renowned Pakahwaj & Tabla player.
Sanjay started singing the Bhajans at the age of 9. He has been applauded for his performances at various stage concerts around Mulshi area. He received the extensive training for 13 years from Late Pt. Shrikant Deshpande, the disciple of Bharatratna Pt. Bhimsen Joshi & grandson of Pt. Sawai Gandharv. He has mastered the art of Classical Vocal music like Khayals, Thumari & Bhajan. He has performed at various music concerts including the prestigious SAWAI GANDHARV BHIMSEN MAHOTSAVA 2011 & has shown his class with the style of great Kirana Gharana.
Sanjay Garud is a regular performer of Bhajans and classical vocal recitals.
