Kavita Dwibedi is a well known Odissi dancer of Orissa and is regarded as one of the most skillful exponent of Odissi dance today in the country.Kavita is known for her versatile dance style and excellent abhinaya, some of the most vital things needed to be a good Odissi dancer.
Kavita Dwibedi has travelled a lot throughout the world and given memorable Odissi dance performance at various countries. One of her most successful international dance tours was the Indian Council For Cultural Relations (ICCR) sponsored performance tour to various countries like Denmark, U.K., Italy, Sweden, Finland, Ireland etc to celebrate 50th anniversary of India's independence in 1997. Kavita Dwibedi has been highly appreciated for her captivating performance at various international events in a number of countries.
Kavita Dwivedi during her professional career also had the honour to perform at all major dance festivals in India. Major dance festivals like Konark Music and Dance Festival, Natyanjali Dance Festival, Soorya Dance Festival, Mamallapuram Dance Festival, Khajuraho Dance Festival and Puri-Beach Dance Festival have been witness to some remarkable performance of Odissi from this leading danseuse.
Kavita has recieved great appreciation for developing new choreographies in Odissi like Ritu – Rang (Seasons of Love) and Proshitapatika (Naayika longing for her beloved Naayak).

She has had the privilege of working with the French theatre company Theatre en Tete for producing and presenting the Indian royal story in the theatre-puppetry form in different parts of France.
She has also presented a dance drama, along with noted danseuse Sharon Lowen, based on “Chha Mana Aatha Guntha” the father of modern Oriya literature Fakir Mohan Senapati.
On the occasion of World Environment Day Kavita has done a special Choreography “Vrikshoaham” – The Story of a Tree – for the IOD
On the theme of global warming a special production “Grishma Aasra” was presented at New Delhi.
An aesthetic presentation of paintings of different artists on the theme of Krishna entitled “Krishna Leelamritam.”
