Biography
I am a sitarist belonging to Jaipur-Senya Gharana. He has learnt sitar from his early childhood under the tutelage of Pandit Netai Basu, one of the most committed and talented disciples of Ustad Mustak Ali Khan, the doyen of Jaipur-Senia style of sitar-playing. After the demise of Pandit Netai Basu, I am getting taalim from sarod maestro Pandit Budhdhadeb Dasgupta. Jaipur-Senya is an old Sitar tradition based on Veena and Dhrupad, and in earlier days this Jaipur-Senya tradition was highly respected for its uncompromising loyality to purity.I am sincerely trying to revive and carry forward the beacon of this Senia tradition, which has only a few adherents now. I am now trying to develop and expand himself, combining my rich musical heritage with modern experimentation.
