Manjiri Dhamankar sang for many ‘Sugam Sangeet’ programs on
radio. She also sang in Sudhir Gadgil’s popular programme ‘Chaitraban’ as well
as in many other programs.
Manjiri successfully compered numerous programs (Music
recitals, conferences, publishing ceremonies etc.) in Marathi, Hindi, English
and Urdu.
Manjiri Dhamankar compered programs of almost all maestros
such as Pt. Bhimsen Joshi, Ganasaraswati Vidushi Kishori Amonkar, Ustad Amjad
Ali Khan, Pt. Shivkumar Sharma, Pt. Rajan-Sajan Mishra, Pt. Vishwa Mohan Bhatt,
Pt. Hariprasad Chourasia, Pt. Balamuralikrishna, Pt. Jasraj and so on. She also
compered dance programmes of Guru Rohini Bhate, Sucheta Chapekar, Hema Malini,
Meenakshi Seshadri and so on.
Manjiri Dhamankar officially compere for the prestigious
'Pune Festival' since 1993. She also compared for the Ellora Festival at the
Ellora Caves, Karveer Festival and Nagpur Festival for MTDC. Manjiri presented
'Sugam Sangeet', 'Natya Pravesh' (enacting extracts from plays) and
'Katha-Kathan' (story-telling) programs in Frankfurt, Germany.
Manjiri has scripted various plays and variety entertainment
programs for ‘Akashwani’. She also scripted documentary on Naturopathy for
Doordarshan. She is also script writing
for Marathi TV channel (E-Marathi). Manjiri was copy - writing for calendar
slogans, greeting cards and advertisements.
Manjiri Dhamankar participated in various plays under the
aegis of ‘Shishu Ranjan’. She acted in the widely acclaimed play ‘Ghashiram
Kotwal’. She played a lead role of Vasantsena in Marathi musical play
‘Mrichhakatik'.
Manjiri translated Marathi plays into Hindi - Shrirang
Godbole's 'Nako Re Baba', 'Mitra Maze' and 'Pahila Paan'. Manjiri Dhamankar wrote 2 books- 'Unmesh
Manjiri' and 'Aashna' to her credit. She also writes articles for news papers
and magazines.
