Biography

Bhupal Panshikar is a young promising vocalist of his generation. He is the son of Pt. Dinkar Panshikar. Bhupal's music represents a beautiful blend of Jaipur and Gwalior Gharana.

Son of Pandit Dinkar Panshikar, renowned doyen of the Jaipur Gharana, Bhupal Panshikar is at once a trained Sitar player and a Hindustani Vocalist. He has studied sitar for many years under the able guidance of Pandit Arvind Parekh ( Disciple of the late Ustad Vilayat Khan) He has chosen however to specialise in vocal music and has been Training for many years under Pandit C. P. Rele. His vocal music involves an attempt to simultaneously explore certain aspects of Jaipur gayaki and of the Gwalior tradition, as handed down by Pandit BR Deodhar, Pandit Kumar Gandharva and his Guru Pandit CP Rele.
