Biography

I had my initial training under the guidance of Shri. Kamalkant Volvaikar. Thereafter I joined Goa College of Music and completed my Bachelor Of Music, First Class 1st under the guidance of Late Pt. Prabhakar Chari & Shri Ulhas Velingkar. I have completed my Masters Degree in Shivaji University Kolhapur under the guidance of Shri. Amod Dandge. Recently I am undergoing advance training under well known Tabla Exponent Pt. Arvind Mulgaokar from Mumbai and Shri. Amod Dandge from Kolhapur.
I gave my first Solo performance at Pt. Ratankant Ramanatkar Sangeet Sammelan in 1997. I have given various solo performances in Goa and in various concerts in India. I have accompanied many senior artists from Goa & outside Goa like Pt. Vijay Bakshi, Pt. Vikas Kashalkar etc. I have also accompanied in audio cd Shree Rang Maza.

Recently I am working as Tabla teacher in Kalangan Margao & Mahila and Nutan High School.

Career

I have participated in Goa College of Music Solo competitions & won first prize. I had given many Solo performances in Goa & outside Goa like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Gujarat, Rajasthan [Jaipur ] etc. I gave my first Solo performance at Pt. Ratankant Ramanatkar Sangeet Sammelan in 1997. Then I performed Solo with my Guru Ulhas Velingkar in Surashree Kesarbai Kerkar Sangeet Sammelan at Kala Academy. Then I
played Solo in various concerts like Nakshatra Utsav of Kala Academy, Pt. Balkrishnabuva Ichalkarnjikar Sangeet Samaroh in Ichalkarji [2003], Pt. Yashwantbuva Kerkar Sangeet Sammelan [2006], Dr. N. K. Karade Sangeet Sammelan Hyderabad [2008], M. S. University Vadodara-Gujarat [2008], Khyal Sangeet Pracharak Sangas foundation day at Panajim Museums Hall[2009], etc. I had been given opportunity by Art & Culture to perform in Festival of Classical Dance, Vocal & Instruments at Nehru Center Jaipur-Rajasthan [2007].

I also got an opportunity to play Solo in Sangitik Guru Poornima Utsav Karad [2004] where I have been appreciated by Pt. Arvind Mulgaokar and given chance to performance in Ustad Aamir Hussain Khan Saheb’s 46th Barsi Samaroh at Mumbai. In this sammelan only two performances were given first by me & after that Ustad Zakir Hussain [2005]. This was my biggest opportunity to perform in big audience.

I have accompanied many senior artists from Goa & outside Goa like Pt. Vijay Bakshi, Pt. Vikas Kashalkar etc. Recently I am working as Tabla teacher in Kalangan Margao & Mahila and Nutan High School.

Awards & Achievements

I had participated in Goa Universities Youth Festival won First Prize in
straight three years.

I also got an opportunity to play Solo in Sangitik Guru Poornima Utsav Karad [2004] where I have been appreciated by Pt. Arvind Mulgaokar and given chance to performance in Ustad Aamir Hussain Khan Saheb’s 46th Barsi Samaroh at Mumbai.This sammelan had only two performances, the first being mine & after that Ustad Zakir Hussain [2005]. This was my biggest opportunity to perform in big audience.
