Manjiri Joshi Marathe is a talented and accomplished tabla artist from Mumbai known for her precision, rhythm, and dedication to Indian classical music. She began her tabla journey at a young age under the guidance of the late Shri Vasant Bapat of Dombivli, who recognized her talent early on. Continuing her advanced studies, she now trains under Shri Vinayak Naik, a senior disciple of the renowned tabla maestro, the late Pt. Bhai Gaitonde. Through this rigorous training, Manjiri has honed her skills in both solo and accompaniment performances, contributing her music across numerous esteemed platforms.
Manjiri holds a ‘Tabla Visharad’ (Bachelor's in Music) from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, Mumbai. Besides performing, she has been associated with All India Radio, Mumbai, as a Broadcast Assistant, where her expertise enriched various broadcasts. She is also a regular examiner for Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Mahavidyalaya Mandal, sharing her expertise with budding musicians.
In 2012, she founded SwaraNaad Tabla Classes, where she imparts her knowledge to students online and offline. This academy operates under the guidance of Shri Vinayak Naik, Director of the Hindustani Sangeet Academy, ensuring a structured and classical approach to tabla education. Alongside her musical career, Manjiri is also a graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Economics, showcasing her commitment to both academic and musical excellence. Her journey reflects her dedication to preserving and promoting the art of tabla through teaching, performing, and examination.
