Vikram Gokhale

With a long career span of 58 years, Vikram Gokhale is a celebrated actor, director and a committed teacher to his students of media. Vikram Gokhale is a worthy scion of the eminent Gokhle family. Born to the doyen of Marathi theatre, Shri Chandrakant  Gokhale and Smt. Hemavati Gokhle, he is the grandson of the illustrious Smt. Kamlabai, the first girl child-artist on the Indian screen and great grandson of Smt. Durgabai, the first lady-artist on Indian screen. He holds a special place in the hearts of countless Indians who have grown up watching him on the big and the small screen. Vikram Gokhale a low key person he lets his legendary body of work speak for him. A devoted family man, when not working he likes to spend his time pursuing his hobbies of photography and playing musical instruments like tabla and harmonium. A Scorpio by birth, he is truly a trailblazer.

Vikram Gokhale teaches 'Science of Dramaturgy' in University Pune and Deccan Education Society Pune, which covers major topics such as History, Mathematics and Science Cinemas. He is training his students not only to be an actor, but to be a good audience, to be an equivalent to Bollywood, Hollywood actor in regards with everything an actor needs to learn. Acting, physical fitness, Martial art, boxing, horse riding, swimming, shooting, false war (action scenes),  how to face such scenes which are required for stunts. Techniques of taking playback, vocal and instrumental, techniques of dubbing are taught to the students who wish to aspire career in field of Acting in TV. His students are from different places in the country and abroad where he regularly travels to spend time with them. He is passionate about nurturing talent by giving them focused guidance. 

Vikram Gokhale has been working relentlessly for the social welfare and upliftment of weaker sections of the society for the last 35 years. As Chairman of the ‘Kamalabai  Gokhale Public Charitable Trust’,  Vikram Gokhale's efforts have been in the direction of care and betterment of the disabled soldiers of the nation and the underprivileged sections of the society.
