Rasa says "In my lifetime, I have always lived in multicultural environments, which has helped me to understand, connect, and relate to all on a human level. As a child, I had a natural affinity for celebrating cultural expressions as well as our universal need for peace.
I study dance in a variety of ways. However, much of my experience has been through life experience with a wide variety of friends in the cultural community. I feel blessed to be living in the melting pot we call America., as I have the opportunity to learn and grasp our world’s dance forms with ease. From performing and gigging in the live performance scene in various venues, I developed the ability to create work that brings people together, no matter their background. I also found that happiness and celebration are key to healing across our planet and that dance can defy boundaries. My vision is to be able to connect with all people across the earth as we celebrate ourselves, each other, our lives, and the life of all sentient creatures on our fragile planet.
For me, dance is a complete unity of mind, body, and spiritual awareness. This life experience has culminated in my unique approach to dance I call “Rasa Dance,” which is a melding of world dance forms. My name, "Rasa Vitalia," literally means "the essence of life.” Rasa Dance uses movement to communicate meaning about the human experience. It is more than exercise or entertainment. It is a powerful medium to express universal values, feelings, and interconnectedness with the world we share. Rasa Dance embraces unity, celebration and awareness".
