Biography

As the Mansarovar lake echoes divine scintillations that pacifies the human soul and the waves sing a divine music that lifts and transcends ones consciousness music also takes us to eternity, the realm of divine. One can feel the same ecstasy when he/she practices the subtle notes of Indian classical music. Twin sisters Abha & Vibha Chaurasia have brought few drops of this divine nectar after practicing Indian classical music right from their childhood. Their father Shri Ramnarayan Chaurasia and mother Smt. Madhubala Chaurasia inspired, supported and encouraged them, taught them to pursue the most subtle aspects of classical music. Traversing in the vast ocean of Indian Classical Music Abha & Vibha have dedicated their life and soul to music. They sing from their heart so as to take the listener to the realm of eternal bliss, in toto, they rightly say that the sole motto of their singing is to elevate their own consciousness and to uplift the consciousness of their audiences.

Abha and Vibha Chaurasia are twice. They perform Devotional songs program. It includes bhajans and abhang of various saints. It can be for specific day like ekadashi, ramnavmi, so they perform vitthal songs or rambhajan etc.

v Remained president of govt. girls post graduate college, Indore during 1991-1992.

v Sang for many Commercial recordings.

v Recording of Jugalbandi with sister Abha was broadcasted in World Space Radio and Surtarang Radio of Wolverhampton ( U.K.).

v Her book has published from Germany. Title is “Creation of New Raga”. Concept of Raga, its Development, Innovation and Experimentation.

v Presented research paper “Teaching Techniques :Development and Deterioration” in the deliberations held at the International Symposium on Areas of Innovation in Teaching and Practice of Indian Classical Music organized by Omenad and Madhukali at Bharat Bhawan, Bhopal, India onDec.22 &23, 2007.
