Raga Alhaiya Bilawal
Alhaiya Bilawal is the most commonly known raga of the Bilawal group of ragas, that are based on the same intervals found in the major scale. Its time of performance is 9am To 12pm. Using komal Nishad in raga Bilawal, makes raga Alhaiya Bilawal, which produces a pleasing serene atmosphere. However, some refer raga Bilawal as raga Alhaiya Bilawal.
The main characteristic of this raga is Vadi Swar is Dhaivat but it is not a Nyas Swar. The Nyas Swar are Pancham and Gandhar. Komal Nishad (n) is rendered between two Dhaivats like S' N D P ; D n D P. Dhaivat-Gandhar Sangati is important and is Taken in Meend. This is a Uttarang Pradhan raga and is expandable in Madhya and Tar Saptaks.
